This course covers the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), how it protects a patient’s privacy and the legal issues that arise when the law isn’t observed in practice.
Those who complete this CE will be able to explain how the legislation works and the difference between protected health information versus individually identifiable health information. They will also be able to explain the process of how to keep patients’ information protected.
