This course helps to identify factors contributing to the fear of falling among community-dwelling older adults and define falls and their impact on quality of life, hospitalization rates, morbidity, and healthcare costs in the U.S. They will assess factors contributing to falls, differentiate between various assistive technology strategies for fall prevention, and examine intrinsic and extrinsic factors of falls in older adults. Additionally, participants will evaluate the research gap between single-focus and multifactorial fall prevention programs.
