APRN Renewal Requirements:

Hold an active Arizona RN OR current RN license within multistate privileges in another compact state
Practiced as an advanced practice registered nurse for 960 hours or more in the past 5 years
Hold active national certification (Your certification expires when your RN license expires)
APRNs who hold an active DEA license, MUST have completed a minimum of three hours of opioid-related continuing education.

Special Requirements

A health professional who is authorized under this title to prescribe schedule II controlled substances and who has a valid United States drug enforcement administration registration number or who is authorized under chapter 18 of this title to dispense controlled substances shall complete a minimum of three hours of opioid-related, substance use disorder-related or addiction-related continuing education each license renewal cycle.

Arizona Physical Therapist (PT)

Physical Therapists must complete 20 hours of continuing education during each 2 year compliance period

At least 10 contact hours must be from Category A, up to the entire 20 contact hour requirement. No more than 10 hours may be utilized from a combination of Category B and/or Category C activities.

Each 60 minutes of instruction equals 1 contact hour.

CEUFast provides Category A Activities.

Licensees may provide proof of continued BOC certification to meet the CEU requirements. BOC certification is required. Athletic Trainers are required to complete 50 CEUs within the 2-year reporting period.

Special Requirements

Athletic Trainers must submit their current CPR and BOC Cards with the renewal application. All licensees shall complete a course approved by the Board on the athletic training statutes and this Chapter within one year of obtaining an original license or license renewal. This course need only be taken one time

Licensed respiratory care practitioners must complete twenty (20) hours of approved continuing education (CEUs) prior to submittal of their license renewal application.

Arizona Board of Respiratory Care automatically approves continuing education offerings from the American Nurses Association and its state affiliates (ANCC)

Special Requirements

At least two (2) hours must be in the area of ethics and five (5) LIVE hours
Only fifteen (15) hours may be completed online (live courses or activities acceptable)
No more than five (5) hours accepted for any combination of Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program or Pediatric Advanced Life Support for a renewal. (You will only be able to obtain hours for one (1) of these classes and not five for each)
Basic Life Support courses will not be accepted for any approved CEU
Only ten (10) hours of CEU will be accepted for any combination of NBRC specialty examination for renewal of a license
No CEU will be accepted for the NBRC Therapist Multiple Choice or Clinical Simulation Examinations for the CRT or RRT Credential.
