  • Must work in nursing or nursing related activities for at least 8 hours during each 2 year renewal cycle.  Private care hours are not accepted in Indiana.

Registered Nurses are not required to obtain continuing education for regular licensure renewal. RNs attempting to renew a license that has been expired for 3 years or more and who are not currently licensed in another jurisdiction will need to contact the IPLA for additional guidance.

For RN expired 3 years or more with no active license in another state wishing to make their license active, a personal appearance will be necessary for the Board to evaluate the licensee for renewal. The personal appearance will be scheduled after the completed renewal form is submitted to the IPLA with the $100 fee.

Advanced Practice Nurses with Prescriptive Authority must obtain at least thirty (30) hours of continuing education, at least eight (8) hours of which must be in pharmacology.
Per IC 35-48-3-3.5 beginning July 1, a practitioner must have 2 hours of CE in opioid prescribing and opioid abuse in order to renew a CSR.
The hours must be from an approved sponsor and can count toward the 8 hour pharmacology requirement. If an APRN hold multipleCSRs, the 2 hours will count for the renewal requirement for all of them.

At a minimum twenty-two (22) hours of continuing competency activities of which at least ten (10) hours must be in category I courses and two (2) hours must be in an ethics and Indiana jurisprudence course as it relates to the practice of physical therapy.

CEUFast is able to provide courses approved by the Florida Board of Physical Therapy Association. 

Special Requirements
Two (2) hours must be in an ethics and Indiana jurisprudence

Category I contact hours must: Be approved by an approved organization, Be from a course relevant to your practice of physical therapy, Result in a certificate for contact hours often awarded at the end of the course.   Category I hours can also be earned by taking a physical therapy related college course from an approved organization (a school accredited by the United States Department of Education, the Council on Postsecondary Education or a regional accreditation association). The following conversion will be used for college courses:  • (1) One (1) semester hour equals fifteen (15) contact hours.  • (2) One (1) quarter hour equals ten (10) contact hours. • (3) One (1) trimester hour equals twelve and one-half (12.5) hours.
