What are the nursing CE requirements in the state of Ohio?

Beyond an initial renewal period where nurses are exempt from completing CEs for their first license renewal following NCLEX examination, Ohio nurses are required to fulfill at least 24 contact hours of CE, including at least one contact hour of Category A CE, for each subsequent renewal. Nurses licensed in Ohio through reciprocity for one year or less before their first renewal are only required to complete 12 contact hours.

What is the license renewal schedule for Ohio nurses?

Ohio nurse must renew their licenses and certificates every two years. RN and APRN’s renewal cycle is July 1-October 31, odd-numbered years. LPN’s renewal cycle is July 1-October 31, even-numbered years.
