Kansas Continuing Education Requirements

30 contact hours of approved continuing education.

Exception: You are NOT required to complete 30 CNE contact hours if license expires within 30 months following initial licensure examination or for renewal of license that expires within the first 9 months following licensure reinstatement or endorsement.

30 contact hours related to the APRN role.

30 contact hours every two years.

CNAs are required to perform 8 hours in a two-year period of activities of daily living. No continuing education is required.

Physical therapists must complete 40 hours of Continuing Education (CEU) fduring the two year cycle 
 

Licenses expire December 31st annually.

 All Kansas Respiratory Therapists licenses expire on March 31st:  The license must be renewed annually. Minimum of 12 hours of Continuing Education (CEU) for the preceding one (1) year period is required.

CEUFast can provide 6 contact hours per year.

From Section 100-55-7 (f) (2) (Continuing education; license renewal) of the KBHA Statutes and Regulations: “At least six contact hours shall be obtained each reporting year from seminars or symposiums that provide for direct interaction between the speakers and the participants.” 
From Section 100-55-7 (f) (3) (Continuing education; license renewal) of the KBHA Statutes and Regulations: “A nontraditional or alternative educational program shall be defined as one that is not presented in the typical conference setting. Educational programs may be provided by any print medium or presented through the internet or other electronic medium… A maximum of six contact hours each reporting year may be obtained from nontraditional or alternative educational programs.”
CEUFast is considered a nontraditional education program.

Kansas does not have any state requirements to practice as a medical assistant. However, most employers require medical assistants who have earned a certain level of competency through a formal course of education in medical assisting and national certification.
