Professional Boundaries for the CNA

1 Contact Hour

This course equips healthcare professionals with essential knowledge on maintaining professional boundaries, understanding the resident's perspective, and fostering therapeutic relationships. Participants will also learn to identify boundary violations and gain a foundational understanding of dependent adult abuse.

Implicit Bias in Healthcare- 1hr

1 Contact Hour

During this course, healthcare professionals will learn how to enhance their understanding of implicit bias, including its various types and impacts, especially concerning historical racism and challenges in healthcare. Participants will also examine strategies for assessing, measuring, and reducing implicit bias to improve patient care.

Implicit Bias in Healthcare-2hr

2 Contact Hours

This course enables healthcare professionals to understand implicit bias, including its origins in historical racism and its effects in healthcare settings. Participants will learn to identify various types of implicit bias and explore strategies to assess, measure, and reduce its influence on patient interactions.

Postpartum Care

1.5 Contact Hours

Upon completion, participants will gain a thorough understanding of the postpartum period, including key physiological changes and critical assessments needed for postpartum care. The course also addresses the unique needs of postpartum patients and prepares learners to identify potential complications during this stage.

Assistance with Self-Administration: Medication Savvy for Nursing Assistants

2 Contact Hours

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to assess resident eligibility for self-administration of medication and understand which medications CNAs may assist with. Learners will also become familiar with prescription label requirements, proper medication storage, key medication classifications, the seven rights of medication administration, and indicators of potential medication misuse.

Pharmacology: Current Practice

3 Contact Hours, including 3 Advanced Pharmacology Hours

This course covers the ten foundational rules for legal accountability in drug administration and the key principles of pharmacokinetics. The course covers special patient considerations, the role of drugs and therapeutic devices in health maintenance, major drug categories and their effects, nursing considerations, and effective strategies for preventing common drug errors.

Placental Complications

1.5 Contact Hours

After completing this course, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the placentas role, common risk factors for abnormalities, and potential complications. The course also prepares learners to recognize the risks to both mother and fetus associated with placental issues and to develop effective nursing care plans for affected patients.

Ostoma-Tology: Colostomy, Ileostomy, Urostomy

2 Contact Hours

This course covers how to be equipped to identify various types of fecal and urinary diversions and provide immediate post-operative care for ostomy patients. The course covers essential education for home care, ostomy supplies, stoma assessment, irrigation techniques, common complications, and guidance to support patients' return to normal activities after recovery.

Obesity and Pregnancy

1 Contact Hour

After completing this course, participants will understand the pregnancy risks associated with maternal obesity and how it affects both mother and fetus during pregnancy and delivery. The course also explores strategies for improving health outcomes, along with essential nursing care considerations for women with obesity.
