Course Description

This course covers encountering patients who have been involved in domestic violence and the mandates placed on health care providers working with victims of these crimes. You will learn how to identify these victims and manage their cases. You will be able to discuss an abuser’s characteristics, why victims stay in abusive situations and how healthcare workers should assists these victims.

All professions listed as the target audience will benefit from all aspects of this course. The healthcare professional will understand how to identify victims, learn abuser characteristics, and how to best to assist the victim.
