RN, LPN Requirement:
36 contact hours for a 3 year license renewal. 24 contact hours for a license renewal held less than 3 years. 12 contact hours for reactivation of an inactive license.

Special Requirement:
APRNs, RNs and LPNs who regularly examine, attend, counsel or treat dependent adults or children in Iowa are required to complete training related to the identification and reporting of child/dependent adult abuse. The licensee is required to complete at least two hours of training every five years. As of July 1st, 2019 this course is required to be completed through the Iowa Department of Public Health.
