Drug Overdose and Antidotes

1.5 Contact Hours including 1.5 Advanced Pharmacology Hours

This course provides healthcare professionals with an updated overview of drug overdose recognition, toxidrome identification, and evidence-based treatment strategies. Participants will strengthen their ability to recognize both traditional and emerging overdose presentations, apply appropriate naloxone dosing protocols, and incorporate current laws and policies into patient care and documentation practices. The course also explores targeted testing, clinical diagnosis through toxidrome recognition, and supportive care interventions designed to improve patient outcomes in overdose and poisoning emergencies.

Adult Obesity: Comprehensive Assessment and Management

2 Contact Hours including 2 Pharmacology Hours

This course provides an overview of adult obesity, including its prevalence, contributing factors, health risks, and current approaches to treatment and management. Participants will explore the complex relationship between obesity and chronic disease, review evidence-based lifestyle interventions, and examine medical and surgical treatment options available for weight management. The course also emphasizes patient-centered care strategies, health promotion, and the importance of addressing obesity with compassion, education, and long-term support.

Domestic Violence, Sexual Violence, Intimate Partner Violence

2 Contact Hours

This revised course examines the impact of domestic violence on individuals, families, and communities while providing healthcare professionals with updated guidance for recognizing, assessing, and responding to abuse. Participants will review risk factors, warning signs, reporting responsibilities, and trauma-informed approaches to patient care. The course also explores the physical, psychological, and social effects of domestic violence, along with strategies for intervention, documentation, safety planning, and connecting patients with appropriate support resources.
