Iowa CE Requirements (RN, LPN)

The Iowa Board of Nursing (DIAL) requires RNs and LPNscomplete36 contact hours of CE every 3 years for license renewal. Keep CE documentation for 4 years in case of audit.

Mandatory Reporter: If you provide care to children and/or dependent adults, you must complete the applicable Iowa HHS mandatory reporter course(s). Each course is 2 hours, counts toward CE, and (post-2019) the certificate is valid for 3 years.
